FAQ
How does Group Finder match golfers?expand_more
Every golfer on Stymie has a profile with their handicap (or average score), pace preference (fast, average, relaxed), play style (competitive, social, quiet), and ratings from past rounds. Hosts set requirements for their listing and Group Finder shows it to players who fit. No random pairings.
Can I play at a private club through Group Finder?expand_more
Yes. Members of private clubs can post guest spots on Group Finder. Golfers apply with their profile and the member approves who joins. It is a way to play courses you could never get on otherwise.
What happens if someone bails on a tee time?expand_more
Hosts can require a small deposit hold when players join. If a player cancels with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows, the deposit is forfeited to the host. If they cancel early or show up, the hold is released and they are never charged.
Do I need a handicap to use Group Finder?expand_more
No. You can enter your official GHIN handicap index or just your average score. Hosts see whichever you provide. The goal is transparency so everyone knows the skill level of their playing partners before tee time.
How are players rated after a round?expand_more
After each round, players rate each other on four dimensions: showed up on time, played at a good pace, was fun to play with, and overall reliability. These ratings build your reputation score over time and are visible on your profile.
