About Stymie

Stymie is a golf platform that solves the problems every golfer has but no single app addresses. Getting a tee time at the course you actually want to play. Finding a group that matches your pace and handicap. Knowing the slope rating before you show up. Tracking every course you have ever played.

We built Stymie because existing platforms are slow, ad-heavy, and focused on selling inventory for courses rather than helping golfers play. GolfNow takes commissions. Supreme Golf aggregates stale data. Neither shows you a scorecard, a slope rating, or who you will be playing with.

What we are building

A tee time alert engine that monitors availability every 5 minutes and notifies you the moment your preferred slot opens. A Group Finder that matches golfers by handicap, pace, and play style so you never get stuck with a random pairing. A Course Passport that tracks your rounds across all 50 states. And the most complete US golf course directory on the web, with full scorecards, USGA-verified slope ratings, and community reviews for over 16,000 courses.

Speed matters

Every page on Stymie loads in under one second. We pre-render all content on the server so you never see a loading spinner. Try the same search on GolfNow and count the seconds. We built Stymie for golfers who value their time on and off the course.

Open data

Our course data is sourced from OpenStreetMap, the USGA National Course Rating Database, GolfCourseAPI, and direct facility website research for selected business details. We plan to open-source the base course dataset at Month 6. Full methodology is documented on our data page.
