About Stymie

Stymie is a golf platform that solves the problems every golfer has but no single app addresses. Getting a tee time at the course you actually want to play. Finding a group that matches your pace and handicap. Knowing the slope rating before you show up. Tracking every course you have ever played.

We built Stymie because existing platforms are slow, ad-heavy, and focused on transactions rather than helping golfers play. Booking platforms focus on inventory. Aggregators show prices. None of them show you a scorecard, a slope rating, or who you will be playing with.

What we are building

We are pursuing an authorized tee-time alert integration; alerts are not live yet. Group Finder lets golfers post open spots and request to join listings. Course Passport tracks rounds across all 50 states. The course directory covers more than 26,000 listings across six countries in total, with scorecards, slope ratings, fees, architect details, and official contact information where those fields are available.

Speed matters

Stymie server-renders and caches public directory pages to deliver useful information quickly. Real-world speed varies by page, device, and connection, so we measure and improve it rather than promising a universal load time.

Open data

Our course data is sourced from OpenStreetMap, the USGA National Course Rating Database, GolfCourseAPI, and direct facility website research for selected business details. We plan to open-source the base course dataset at Month 6. Full methodology is documented on our data page.
