Editorial standards
Stymie Research turns structured golf-course and equipment records into original, source-linked analysis. The former automated course and architect publishing routines are paused; these stories are selected and reviewed individually.
Original question first
A research story must answer a question Stymie can investigate with its own course or equipment records. We do not publish generic “best” lists, rewritten announcements, or a story merely because a keyword exists.
A frozen, reproducible snapshot
Article figures are frozen to a stated date. Later database changes do not silently rewrite a published finding. Material reruns receive a truthful updated date and a clear explanation.
One observation, one vote
We define the unit of analysis before calculating. A course with seven tee sets should not automatically outweigh one with three; missing specifications are not converted into invented values.
Claims stay inside the evidence
Specifications are not product tests. Course and slope ratings are not weather, setup, access, or personal score predictions. Every story states what its dataset cannot answer.
Human editorial accountability
Stymie Research is the organizational byline for database analysis. Founder Anthony Sallemi owns the editorial decision to publish, checks the framing and source trail, and does not claim credentials or first-hand testing that the work does not contain.
Commercial separation
Affiliate eligibility never determines the result, inclusion, or order of a research analysis. A disclosure appears before commercial links when a story can generate commission.
Images and AI-assisted tools
Data tables and findings—not hero art—are the evidence in a Stymie research story. When a generative tool helps create an editorial illustration, the caption says so. We do not present generated scenery as a photograph of a named course or a generic product concept as a manufacturer’s real model.
Corrections and substantive updates
Send a suspected error, the article URL, and supporting source to [email protected]. We check the frozen query and source record. Material corrections receive an updated date and an editor’s note; spelling and presentation fixes do not receive a false freshness change.
